Toshiba Satellite laptop, Vista Home Premium. It's my wife's laptop and she can't even get into her My Pictures file or My Music files. Say's access denied. I tried the cmd.exe or command prompt screen and there is no administrator listed in c\system32\and the rest.
When we run CCleaner you have to give it permission, twice! AdAware is the same.
She can't save a program to C Program Files because it needs permission from the administrator. She's listed as Name Withheld - Owner.
We didn't have to do any of this a month or so ago. It happened once last year but I caught it after a day or so, so the restore I did didn't affect anything.
After so much elapsed time, will a restore drop much? If so, should I go with a clean install of Vista? Or is there a safer, simpler way to make this go away?
Thanks.
Greg.
