Missing Speaker Icon In Notification Area

Missing Speaker Icon In Notification Area
Speaker icon is grayed out in the Notification Area - unable to access it.
Audio driver for speakers is installed and working - it tested successfully and speaker tone is audible in the hardware test
Speaker volume is muted with no way to adjust volume level
Any suggestions?

Hello Knot4Prophet,

Sometimes restarting the computer will resolve the problem. If not, then this tutorial may be able to help you restore it.

If not, then you might see if uninstalling and reinstalling the audio driver may help.
