Windows installer constanly runs, vista

Good day all,

I have a problem with windows installer, it runs everytime I try to run a program and when I boot up it runs for everything that is listed to start at start up. I have tried installing windows installer 4.5, re-installed programs I have installed recently, tried a restore point before the problem started. I am running an HP HDX Premium. Vista Home Premium, 64bit OS.

I am going insane here, I don't have enough hair on my head to pull any out so I am at a loss of what to do.

Open elevated command prompt, and type

msiexec.exe /unreg, hit enter,

msiexec.exe /regserver hit enter.

Let me know the result :)
