Random Shutting Down

This happens to me every morning when I turn my computer on after having it off all night.

I turn on my computer. Windows loads then I get a message (as soon as windows is done loading all up) that "Windows will be shutting down in less than a minute."

So it shuts down, restarts, and when it gets back on my User Account Control is turned off. So I turn User Account Control back on and it's fine until the next morning. Sometimes, but not often it will do this after my computer has been Hibernating for a while.

    I really don't know where to find any of this information. We bought the computer online from a website that builds gaming computers. I know it's pretty and it lets me play WoW at a normal speed. If I wanna sound like I know something about computers I throw out the words "4gig Quad Core!"
I'd suggest a thorough antivirus and malware scan. What is happening on your machine may be suspicious from a security standpoint.

I have AVG anti-virus and I run a full scan every day. Also this computer is pretty new and I haven't done anything but play WoW, check my email, and watch movies with it.

I don't think I could have gotten any viruses because I don't go to any websites besides ones I know are safe. (yahoo, youtube, google, etc).

Running a scan right now, but since I ran one yesterday morning and the only website I went to all day was worldofwarcraft.com I don't think anything is gonna show.

Well, I hope your optimism turns out to be justified, but if that was happening on any machine I cared about I'd be a-scannin' like you wouldn't believe ;)

Something appears to be running as a startup task which "gracefully" deactivates the UAC. Since the UAC's primary function is to act as a security layer, there is the possibility that the activity has malicious intent.

Is there anything in the System or Application event logs at the time? (Run EVENTVWR to check)

Hey

u may be affected by dcom service error.

THis batch file View attachment shutdown.bat will help u to abort the shutdown. right click on that batch file and run as administrator whenever its giving that warning message. The shut down will be aborted.

And this link will help u to completely wipe out the problem.

If u have any doubts in executing the procedure, you are welcomed.

I'm not sure what's going on at the time because it gives me literally 30 seconds before it shuts down. Doesn't even give me an option to cancel.

I ran my anti-virus scan and it came up with no threats and like...46 warnings, all of which were cookies from advertising sites.

My batch file will give a chance to cancel. Right click on that and run as administrator.

so I found my event viewer after some searching.
at 11:09 I get startup messages.
at 11:10 I get !Error! - Unable to initialize the security package Kerberos for server side authentication. The data field contains the error number.

I have no idea what that means....

Then again at 11:10 I get a whole lot of !Warnings! - Windows Defender Real-Time Protection agent has detected changes. Microsoft recommends you analyze the software that made these changes for potential risks. You can use information about how these programs operate to choose whether to allow them to run or remove them from your computer. Allow changes only if you trust the program or the software publisher. Windows Defender can't undo changes that you allow.

It does sound like a virus. Make sure you perform a Full System Scan with AVG the run a scan with Windows Defender. Make sure both are fully updated before you scan.

Delete anything they show including cookies. If that doesnt solve your problem download this TuneUp United Kingdom - Download and open StartUp Manager. Disable everything except your security software eg. AVG, UAC, Windows Defender etc and reboot.

I tried running that file as administrator and all that happened was a command prompt came up, scrolled through and my computer still shut down. :(

Try typing shutdown -a in elevated command prompt.

my AVG just started the sceduled scan so now I can't get into the log from the last one >.<

running windows defender scan as well, we'll see what it turns up.

Windows Defender came up as clean.

Manually typing in shutdown -a in my cmd prompt works....if I can do it quick enough.
I've come to the solution that the problem is this error message. (It's the only one that pops up with regularity.

Unable to initialize the security package Kerberos for server side authentication. The data field contains the error number.

When I check for online help I get this web page: Event ID 15016 — HTTP Service Authentication

Basically it tells me to ignore it.
This event occurred because you are using a Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista configuration that does not have and does not require a security package for HTTP service authentication. You can safely ignore this error.

But I don't want to ignore it...because I have to start my computer twice every time I start it...and it annoys me.

Not really sure what to do from here.

Oh I also found another warning under my Applications log that I seem to be getting fairly often.

Certificate for local system with Thumbprint 4e 7c 54 42 2a 43 1a db de 20 36 77 0e b2 fa 58 fb 58 cd 44 is about to expire or already expired.

The solution for this was Event ID 64 — AD CS Certification Authority Certificate and Chain Validation

But that didn't work for me..I got to step 7, and then I couldn't find the one with the right thumbprint....then after I minute I couldn't find the thumbprints at all.

Download memtest86 ISO and make a CD with it. Test your RAM one stick at a time. If they all pass, test together for 24 hours. Run Chkdsk c:/r on your hard drives. Check each partition. Check your power supply voltages. Did you add any new hardware? Could your power supply be too small for your load. Post your specs, power supply model and specs.

Two good programmes for checking what SCSIraidGURU said are cpu-z and HWmonitor. Download them here:

Run them then take a screenshot and post results. You should also download Tune Up Utilities TuneUp America - Downloadas it allows you to tweak the Network etc.

My CPU is at 47C/120F. It usually runs between 90F - 130F
My entire computer is new, and since it was built for running high memory video games all the time I doubt my power supply is too small. But honestly I have no idea what most of what you said even means.
I have no idea what power supply model I have, or how to check my memory settings or what a CPU FSB is. Or a heatsink fan. I have 2 fans in my computer, I can see them through the side.

Keeping in mind that I know nothing about computers I don't really see how it restarting every time I turn it on could be related to a hardware error. If my power supply was too small wouldn't it just not turn on at all?

Ok the intenets are telling me to look in the case for the power supply.
XION: XON-580X is what the case says.
Then there's a lot of little numbers that I can't read without taking it out...something about Max Output, Current, something else, idk it hurts my head trying to read those.

Your power supply has a label on it. What does it say? What model and size is it? CPU-Z is a great tool.

google CPU-Z. Download it. Run it. Post screen shots. What power supply do you have?
