Will this disc work to get Vista back?

I currently have no OS as I had to have a new HDD installed.

I have the product key for Vista on the back of my laptop so if I buy this... WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM DVD GENUINE RECOVERY DISK on eBay, also Microsoft, Operating Systems, Software, Computing (end time 07-Apr-09 12:01:14 BST)

... and then enter the key, will I have it running again?

Hello CMM, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Sorry, but no. It looks like it is the same recovery disk that is created in this tutorial. It will only let you boot in the System Recovery Tools screen to repair Vista, but not to install Vista.

Since you have a OEM computer, then you should be able to get a replacement OEM Vista Recovery disc from your OEM computer manufacter's website. If you had created the set of OEM Vista recovery discs from your computer, then you can use those to reinstall Vista back to factory defaults with to.
