On my windows vista notebook, my key bindings on my keyboard changed. now whenever I press one key (such as the 1 key) i get something else. Computer has been restarted, has a separate numberlock keyboard, and no apparent problem with any drivers. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you may have inadvertently changed your KB type (to Dvorak or something).
You could try a restore to the point before this, or find the setting and reset it yourself.
