Hi, Help required please. I have an Acer 8930g running Windows Vista Home Premium.
Which when I switch it on and after logging in I get a message "SLUI.exe - Unable to Locate Component. This application has failed to start because urlmon.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
The machine then displays "Preparing your Desktop".
Next the computer displays "Microsoft Windows. Windows Activation Client has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".
Upon clicking "Close Program" the computer goes back to the loin prompt.
If I try "Safe Mode" after logging in and seeing "Preparing your Desktop" the computer displays "Help and Support was not able to start" followed by a message at the bottom of the screen "i Your user profile was not loaded correctly! You have been logged on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off. Please see the event log for details or contact your administrator"
When I look for "Restore Points" there is only one for today. I presume this is because the computer does not recognise my login.
Any ideas please.
Thanks
Pete
