any idea?
Usually you will have a recovery D: partition on a laptop that can be used to restore Vista back to a clean factory install. Normally the OEM will allow you to create a set of Recovery DVDs to also use.
What brand and model number is your laptop? I will see if I can find instructions on how you can do this from your laptop manufacturer's (OEM) website.

I understand what he is saying. I wish the system tools would let you make more than one copy of recovery discs but to do that you pretty much need some third party software. I have been using Macrium Reflect. There are many programs out there. Get some advice on some good disc imaging software. You can get the job done for free.
It should be possible, although the procedure is quite advanced and is not guaranteed to work with all recovery media. However, give it a go as you are not going to ruin your existing recovery media. If you use the link provided to download the appropriate standalone version of SP1, you can always burn that to a disk and then install it from that after you use the recovery media on your laptop.
