Needing help with vista 64 bit

Dear guys
I'm a new comer here and need some help.
The point is that I'm really sick and tired of my vista home premium 64 bit running on a sony vaio fw 285.I can't even get a simple dictionary to run on this machine.I was wondering how I can swap the 64 with a 32 bit which is supposedly more flexible with softwares.In case of a clean instal what would happen to my VAIO factory-instaled applications.BTW I've already made the recovery/backup dvds.
I appreciate any help and plz keep it simple as I'm not a pc pro.

Hello Mohsen, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You can contact your computer OEM (Sony) to see if they will let you downgrade for free or for a small fee to get the 32-bit Vista DVD. Otherwise you will need to purchase a 32-bit Vista and use it instead to install on your OEM computer.

The D: recovery partition will not be touched when you install the 32-bit Vista as long as you only select the C: drive to format and install the 32-bit Vista on.
