Hi, I recently solved the problem where my External HDD came up as a CD Drive but now it says the permission is read only, any ideas?

What would you like to know, i right click on the drive and open the properties window it says the the drive type is 'CD Drive' and the file system is UDF it then tells me i have 4.33 GB of used space (100%)

what size is the drive supposed to be?
is it a card (like a micro sd) or a drive?
if its a card have you checked to make sure its not 'locked'?

Is there any information on there that you can't erase? If not, then just delete the partition and reformat it. That might work.

Its an old laptop HDD that only has about 4 GB on it, there is no option for deleting the partition and i can't format it either,
