Solved Unable to post bmp files to C:\Windows

Help, I am unable to post bmp files to my C:\Windows folder. "You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission." (Bummer -- I am the computer administrator and this computer's sole user.)

Hello Dcliff, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Are you able to save the files to your desktop first, then move them to the C:\Windows folder?

How I learned to post wallpaper in Windows Vista

The workaround:

1. Control panel
2. Personalization
3. Desktop Background

Browse to a picture,
select and voilá! :D

By the way, a late, beloved brother-in-law had a brother whose name was Brink. Actually his name was Brinkworth, and he was a New Jersey resident who witnesed the Hindenburgh disaster away back in 1937.
