I don't like where windows puts desktop icons by default, so I have them put where I want. This has always worked for every machine that I have running XP. But in Vista, when I log off or restart all of my desktop icons get re-arranged and re-aligned. I am using:
Medium Icons
Auto Arrange = No
Align to Grid = No
Sort by = none
I have a solution. It's a program called Iconoid and it works just fine. I'm just wondering what is causing this in the first place and why do I need a third party program to force the icon's position back where I want them???
Is this just another Vista "feature", like classic start menu forcing sort by name?
