in how many partitions you divided you 160 GB? I meant that you formated your whole hard drive or just one partition?

During installation you should see the disc(s) and the partition(s) it has.
Did you only see one disc with one partition? Or more simple... did you see just one drive? (like Drive C and nothing more)
Also, you didn't mess with RAID, did you?

Open Disk Management, and see what you have listed for your drives (disks) and partitions, and please let us know what you see.
Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management in left pane.
