Problems with vista, in general

I have been having problems with vista on and off, but my main thing right now is with my dvd/cd, at times it will not work and i have to go to Regedit, and change some settings, but then i have to go to Roxio and uninstall and then recover and reinstall, well, i have tried to uninstall it and it tells me it cannot find the path so my roxio cannot uninstall, so, it will not recognize my cd/dvd player i dont know if im explaining it correctly, but it has become a very frustrating thing, i have run virus scans and i have found nothing i have no clue why this is happening, im hoping someone may be able to help me, i have thought of running a recovery disc but im sort of afraid to do anything that may harm it any more than it already is. hope to hear from someone soon , thanks :confused:

Only tick the registry items that revo has found where the WORDS are in bold type.Then click Delete then Next.

The next section finds the files and folders related to the program - select all, Delete and Next

I want to thank you i did all and it works like a charm, I still dont understand why this has happened, this is the 3rd time, the other two HP told me that Apple iPod had done it but i have not used my ipod since then so we cant blame it for what happened. Any way its fixed and running well. thanks again for the advice. Im still not 100 percent on vista it freezes to much but i can live with that. thanks again Miami now from Miami

Just one more thing, when i go on to web sites and it says "if you want to email me click here" I do that and it give me an error message that im not connected to do that, i thought i had got all my mail set up correct, i dont use webmail, i use the one on bellsouth.net that is my server. any ideas on that score. thanks again
