I'm trying to create a full installation cd/dvd and then delete the "hidden'' partion to make some more space, and more importantly to stop any virus or other nasties from affecting it. This happened to a friend of mine and I had to use another installation cd from a local company to help her.

If you mean from a OEM recovery partition, then usually it may have the option to allow you create one from it. We will need to know what brand (OEM) your computer is to look up the instructions at their website since each OEM is a little different on their procedure.

Many thanks for your efforts Shawn, as I am new to Vista it was only by reading other peoples problems that I now Know how to do it. The software on my Sony Vaio laptop has a help file which I hadn't seen, which explains the procedure that I was looking for. As the old saying says "read the instructions before operating".
