Hey there,
I have installed the retail version of Vista Ultimate 64 on my Vaio NS-10L VAIO : VGN-NS10L/S : United Kingdom
- It took a little hunting to find x64 versions of the Vaio drivers as Sony don't officially support x64 for this laptop.
Ultimate is running fine, bar a minor if annoying issue.
When I start up the laptop and it boots into Windows I receive a prompt to run 3 files - Windows defender info for the files is below :
Display Name: Intel(R) Common User Interface
Description: igfxTray Module
Publisher: Intel Corporation
Digitally Signed By: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility PCA
File Type: Application
Startup Value: C:\Windows\system32\igfxtray.exe
File Path: C:\Windows\system32\igfxtray.exe
Display Name: Intel(R) Common User Interface
Description: hkcmd Module
Publisher: Intel Corporation
Digitally Signed By: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility PCA
File Type: Application
Startup Value: C:\Windows\system32\hkcmd.exe
File Path: C:\Windows\system32\hkcmd.exe
File Name: igfxpers.exe
Display Name: Intel(R) Common User Interface
Description: persistence Module
Publisher: Intel Corporation
Digitally Signed By: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility PCA
File Type: Application
Startup Value: C:\Windows\system32\igfxpers.exe
File Path: C:\Windows\system32\igfxpers.exe
I have un-checked the box which says 'always prompt to run' so it shouldn't keep asking me if I want to run these files but it does. I have also checked the files using Windows Defender, they appear under 'Startup' and are 'Permitted'.
I thought that I may be able to add these files to 'allowed items' in Windows Defender however when I open this option I have no items which are selectable to be un-monitored.
Is there any way to stop these files from prompting me to run each time I start up ?
Thanks to anyone that replies
