Hi people new here :D
I am running on Windows Vista Ultimate X64.
Using a Pinnacle 3010IX PCTV Dual Hybrid Pro TV Tuner.
I am trying to start vista up with less than 4 Gigs of RAM ( for a work around reasons because my TV Tuner won't work with systems with 4 Gigs or higher. ). So i go into the System Configuration > Boot > Advanced Options.
Now here i tick the Maximum Memory box and enter "4095" which is 1mb of 4Gigs. I reboot and the workaround for my TV tuner works. But i noticed Vista set its memory to "2046" in task manager. I also checked Msinfo32.exe and got 4 Gigs installed ( which is correct ) but 2 Gigs Total physical memory.
I tried again, but this time instead of "4095" i tried "3072" for 3 Gigs of RAM, i reboot but again windows task manager and Msinfo32.exe both said i was only allowed 2 gigs.
Is windows Vista x64 not allowed to set these numbers or is Windows not reading the correct amount of avaliable memory? Because i tested on 2048 and it was slower than when i had it on 4096.
I am very confused if anyone can help i would much appreciate it.
