Solved All shortcuts on my vista desktop...

It seems that all my desktop shortcuts have turned into white squares.It happened after the installation of last weeks security update.(at least I assume it was caused by the update.....it could just be a coincidence)
Anyway.....I've been beating my head against the wall for three days trying to figure how to correct the problem myself and I cannot.
I would be incredibly grateful for assistance.

Hello Vincent,

If the shortcuts still work, then see if using the program in the tutorial below to change the shortcut arrow back to the default arrow can fix them afterwards.
