Hi, I got a Compaq laptop from ebay with the following configuration
Compaq Pressario V6533EF
- AMD Turion X2 1.7 GHz x 2
- 3 GB of RAM
- Windows Vista Home Premium OEM (not SP1 installed yet)
Product link Compaq Presario V6533EF Notebook PC
I have a very annoying problem
When I try to turn off the laptop using Start menu -> turn off, vista closes all programs and going to "Shutting down" screen and everything goes off (normal) but the problem is the power button is still blinking and no matter how hard or how long I press the power button again, my laptop won't wake up.
In order to wake him up, I have to remove the battery, unplug the power cord and the plug (one of them) again, press the power button (which is not blinking now) and....Vista is up and running normally.
I've been searching around for 1 week for the solution, post a thread in HP's support forum but no solutions, and then I found out that it seems to be a problem with ACPI and/or APM (Advanced Power Management), I upgraded the BIOS to the lastest version, but there is no settings for neither ACPI nor APM in BIOS configuration.
I downgraded the BIOS to a lower version, but no luck.
No problem with my battery or power cord, the sleep function works normally unless it takes quite a long time to recover my laptop from sleep mode. (no blinking power-button on sleep mode). Every drivers was downloaded from HP website and installed.
So I hope I can find a solution here, thank you!
