What do I do without oobe.xml?

Having lost the file C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\oobe.xml & its copy cyoobe.xml & have no idea how to replace either, will Vista Home Premium run ok without the oobe.xml file??

I have a new Toshiba Satellite laptop.:(

You could try a system restore if you have a fairly recent restore point.

It will run fine. All that file does is add the Windows or OEM's (Toshiba in your case) logo in the top right corner of the Welcome Center.

Don't know about anyone else but the only time I ever see it is on a fresh install, and immediately uncheck the "Run at startup" box in the bottom left corner.
