Hi, I have a Acer aspire running vista home prem, last saterday I was online and internet explorer stopped working as it does from time to time. Vista started it's "problem solution task" and came back with a solution to install service pack 1. That would be the last time my computer booted up. After it installed vista service pack 1 my lap top went to reboot and now I get a blue error screen< I can not get into windows tried safe mode and any other option just goes strait to the error screen:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If the problem continue, disable or remove any newly insatlled hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing . If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced setup
I tried it it still goes back to this screen before I can load windows..
