Is there a way to reload Windows Vista Ultimate upgrade without having to reload XP?

Hello everyone,
Over the past few months, my install of Vista Ultimate upgrade has gotten steadily quirkier. Windows Mail (I hate it) will not properly delete e-mails. My DVD drives have disappeared and Vista will not find them. IE7 will not connect to the Internet but Firefox does. Installation problems with new programs, etc., etc. It is piddling me off and I just want a fresh start and reload Vista but I don't want the headache of having to format my drive, reload XP (which was also an upgrade), then reload Vista. Is there an easier way? If someone knows, please post and I will grant 1,000 kudos!
