Solved default icon images storage location?

Where does Vista HP x64 hide the default icon images (ie. the little images for CDs and Hard Drives you see on the "My Computer" window. I got a new HD which has a custom image icon, which I'd like to change to the standard default HD icon, but don't know it's location!

Hello Zoloft,

You can use this location C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll,26 for the default hard drive icon in Method Two (step 13) of the tutorial below.

Humm, tried both methods, and it still has the annoying blue WD icon. . . Greatly appreciate the effort though!

Ok, Zoloft.

Check the root of that drive to see if there is a autorun.inf file (may be hidden) there. If so delete it, and it should restore the default hard drive icon again.

Hummm, again, appreciated. . .removed that file (didn't delete, just saved it on in a folder on a different drive, just in case), and re-followed the steps to change icon. . .no luck. Do I need to reboot to take effect?

Re-booting did the trick (as it often does!). Thanks for all your help, I like everything to look the same, I can be quite OCD at times (hence the Zoloft alias lol).
