Taskbar freezes and Task Manager

I have a Toshiba Satellite which is only 3 months old but for the past couple of days I can have a program minimized and when I go to the task bar to click it it has frozen. So I then go and press CTRL ALT DEL and click task manager and that also is frozen. But I can still surf the internet and type and do everything else. So to get the taskbar programs up frozen I have to Click log off and then sign back on.

I don't know if it could be something I've downloaded in the past 2-3 days that could be causing this or what. I was thinking about doing a point restore but I'm not sure if I will mess anything up further.

Has anyone had this problem or Can someone help me please?

First off - have you thoroughly scanned your machine for malware? A good antivirus, a good general malware scanner and such?

I found one trojan with that Malwarebytes and the problem has stopped for now. I wanted to wait a day before I posted whether is helped or not and it has. I didn't know trojans can do that wow. Thanks for the help!!! I have repped you also :)
