Documents Folder Hidden

Ok, I tried to move my personal folders to another drive & got things screwed up. By following some of the advice here I was able to get things back to the default.

I only have one problem. Under C:\Users\Carrie I can't see the Documents folder. I can see all the other personal folders, but not the Documents folder. At the top of the tree, under my name, Carrie, I can see the Documents folder. If I unhide files & System files I can see the Documents folder under C:\Users\Carrie.

I have compared the Documents folder properties with the other personal folder properties to see if I could see a difference. The only difference is on the Document folder the hidden attribute has a check by it but it is grayed out. You can't change it. I thing this might be the problem, but I don't know how to fix it.

Could someone help me?

See if this can help you. It should remove the hidden attribute for that folder.

1. Open a elevated command prompt.
2. In the elevated command prompt, type attrib +r -h %USERPROFILE%\Documents and press Enter.
3. Close the command prompt.
4. Logoff and logon, or restart the computer.

Technicaly this should work without restarting your computer...

True, but I have had people report that they needed to at least logoff and logon before it took affect. I only include it to cover all of the bases. ;)
