does anyone know how to delete pictures from the windows photo gallery that i have already deleted?
you cant open the images, but you can still see them in like a thumbnail size. i tried everything, but it says they have already been deleted. but if that were true, why in the hell can i still see them?

Heatherhavoc, off topic, you have a seriously cool handle!
Back on track, what I think is happening is you are not giving Photo Gallery chance to update itsself. There are two solutions, both of which require a bit of time, depending on how many photos you have in the library.
The first one is the easiest. Before you go to bed, open Photo Gallery, and then leave the computer on and idle overnight. That way, Photo Gallery should have enough time to update. It's odd though that you have deleted pictures from explorer, but they don't go away in PG.
The second solution requires you to force a refresh of the entire Photo Gallery database. The problem is though, is that the tags data will be lost for pictures and videos that cannot embed tags. These include Bitmaps, PNGs, DivX Videos, MPEG Videos, etc. JPEG images will be fine, because their tags are embedded directly into the image files themselves. This may also fix a possible corruption in the Photo Gallery database that is preventing the updates.
Follow this procedure:
- Make sure that Windows Live Photo Gallery (or Windows Photo Gallery") is closed.
- Click the Start Orb, then select Computer. Or press <WINDOWS_KEY)+<E> to open Computer.
- Click "Organize", then select "Folder and Search options".
- Click the "View" tab.
- Under "Advanced Settings", make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked, and remove the check from "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)". Click "OK"
- Close Explorer
- Click the Start Orb, then click your user name in the top right.
- Double-click the "AppData" folder.
- Double-click then "Local" folder.
- Double-click then "Microsoft" folder.
- Double-click then "Windows Live Photo Gallery" folder. ("Windows Photo Gallery" if you are not using WLPG).
- Select all files in the folder you opend in 10 above by pressing <CTRL>+<A>.
- Press <DELETE>
- Click "Organize", then select "Folder and Search options".
- Click the "View" tab.
- Under "Advanced Settings", make sure that "Do not show hidden files and folders" is checked, and restore the check to "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)". Click "OK"
- Close Explorer
- Open Windows Live Photo Gallery and leave the computer on and idle (preferably for a few hours, or overnight) to give it time to search your Pictures folder for you photos.
Generally speaking, the first procedure I gave you is the better solution, but even this shouldn't be necessary. If you cannot locate an alternate solution, then perhaps you can workaround the problem by rather using Photo Gallery to delete picture files. That way, the files get deleted, and the database will automatically update itself.
