Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000

Hi People, very simple question. Maybe I could get an answer to my question that I should had asked when I was buying. This wireless mouse uses two "AA" batteries or rechargeable batteries. Question: What about turning it off for the night or whenever I leave my computer? So that I don’t change them every two-three days. Thank you for your help with such a stupid question.

The mouse should go into a low power mode so it doesn't use that much battery power.

Hey. Thanx for your help. After how long and how would I know it did? Just now, didn't touch it for a half hour, I touched it, and the cursor did move on the screen. How long does need to sit there before it goes in "low power mode"? How do I tell if it did or didn't?

Its a built in feature cause it will still have to send a signal to the usb receiver. Also if you have a good set of rechargeables it should last about a month or 2 as my mouse lasts that long.
