watercooling system radiator

can someone please help me understand just how a watercooling system radiator
works? as i see it is the water gets cooled in the radiator by just a fan. if
this is so then it can only get around your system or room temp or maybe 1c. or
2c. cooler is this right ? i'm trying to learn as much as i can on this cause i
read on some posts that posters are cooling there system down to like (16c. to 20c.) on water. how can that be if it's just cooling by a fan?

i got the EVERCOOL EC-WC-202 CPU & GPU Water Cooler Kit as a starter for watercooling and found it don't work for me at all.thats why i'm looking for the info on the radiator thinking maybe this one is not cooling it right. i had a (NINJA PLUS Rev.B 6 Heat Pipes CPU Cooler with fan) on my system before and it cooled my system better then the water. i tryed resetting the block and still can't get the temps down any lower then 44c. with the ninja i was getting 39c. anyway thanks again for your help.

my WC system cools down to 22C - I am also using nanofluids as my fluid. Are you sure you don't have any air trapped in the water block? Is your pump turned to max? You can always slow it back down. make sure nothing is blocking the radiator fan intake..make sure you have enough liquid in the system, and make sure nothing is blocking the air flow thru the radiator

do you have the same watercooler? on this one i don't see any settings for the pump.only settings i see is for the fan on top of the radiator and it don't seem to pump much air to the radiator .i have it set all the way up and don't seem to do much. i just ordered a (Swiftech MCR320-QP Quiet Power radiator) thinking that may do the trick . also let me ask you this, how much paste did you put on the cpu? this one says to cover evenly on the surface of the cpu core. i was always told to only put a small amount in the center of the cpu core.

a small dab of thermal paste will work just fine. I usually spread mine out, but the force of the block should do that. I don't thin I have the same water cooler. My fan speed is constant, while I can change my pump speed.
Sounds like your fan might be bad..it should be blowing some air

it blows the air in but it don't seem to be real strong. so maybe the Swiftech will cool it down then .

yes i left the tray on top open and the tray below open. i'm thinking the fan just don't cool the radiator to well . theres 2 radiators in the loop a small one connected
to the back wall of the system and the other sets in bay.

yes i just tryed that didn't work .
and my system has a good lay out of fans aswell.
bottom front 2 small fans blowing in .
on the back wall 2 large fans blowing out
on the very top of the system i cut 2 holes and put 2 small fans in there.
and also have 1 large fan a cross the northbridge and memory on the system.
i can see there is no air bubbles in the system so the water is flowing good .

last thing I would check would be to make sure there isn't anything blocking the air flow thru the radiator - inside the radiator itself...

th cheaper watercooling stuff doesn't work as well as the better air coolers. thats why the old one works better.

I'd send back that swiftech MCR320. as thats a really big. Tri 120mm fan RAD,, and it will be huge, and a very very good RAD on a cheap CPU block.

you're best bet is to send back the MCR320. and order the Swiftech H20 220 complete kit for $229.99 it's a fairly decent kit.

that or build your own in parts.
