Startup repair runs everytime I boot

Hi All

I have a HP dv6500t CTO notebook running windows vista home premium 32 bit.

Recently i replaced the HDD on the notebook and recieved two restore disks from HP, to restore the system to its original factory settings.

I restored the system, and it worked fine, but now, everytime I restart the system, startup repair runs. If I restart the system the system boots properly, but if i **** down the system and then start after say 2-3 hrs, start up repair runs again.

I am at my wits end and any help would be much appreciated

Have you made sure that all connections are good at the SATA cable? Maybe the cable is bad.

Just wiggle it at the connectors to make sure you have a good connection.
