It use to be when I would open something it would put icons on the task bar on the right hand side. It would only show two at a time and you could Click the arrow to scroll through. All of a sudden it stopped doing that and it adds them on the left and shows all the programs. Any ideas how to get it back?

Doing this doesn't give you an option to restore settings back to default.

If you right click on taskbar and unlock it (uncheck Option) you can then size the various parts of the taskbar (Icon Area, Quicklaunch etc.), by dragging the little row of dots to the right of the item.
