Hi Bruce,
Another one to check is nero this will quite often create a virtual drive to allow you to easily create ISO files by writing to a virtual drive, it's sort of like the print to file option or MS XPS document writer

So, you think it is not a glitch, but when I try access, it spits back with errors.

Not sure how it's supposed to work haven't actually used Nero for some time but If you are running Nero or something similar check the application's help for how to use it.
I can recall that even after I un-installed Nero the drive remained and took a lot of hacking around the registry to remove it.

Hi Bruce,
This turorial below doesn't solve the problem of why you have this extra drive, but it will show you how to hopefully hide it to prevent it from showing up. Use the Manual Way in Method Two to select set the drive letter you want as hidden.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks Brink, tried and failed because there is not really a drive there to hide. I guess I am going to live with this ghost as long as it is not doing any harm.

Have you tried the usuall restart to see if that happens to clear the problem?
If you have, then you might do a
System Restore using a restore point dated before this problem.
