Recovery partition and disc question

I have a D: recovery and also created a recovery disc when I first set the PC up, Now would the recovery disc have the drivers etc from that point? And Is the D drive for conducting a recovery or can I do a reformat from there when I want to reformat?

Hi Matty,

The recovery partition, or recovery installation DVD/CD, will format the hard drive and restore your computer's Vista installation back to the factory defaults like it was the first day you turned it on.

However, you will probably still need to manually update the drivers to the latest versions since then.

Thanks for the reply. I had a feeling I would need to update the drivers to the most current version. I am going to refrmat shortly once I can get enough room on my external drive or buy another onn.
Which way would be the easiest disc or recovery partition?
