After much frustrations from the functions that MS left out of windows explorer in vista and having spent much time chasing the net looking for answers, to the problem of not being able to customize the toolbar as i have been able to in previous versions, i finally gave up and found xplorer2 software and installed it.
This software has finally been able to get me back to many of the old and some new features as well. It works well and haven't had any system problems with it.
This is not an add or promo for xplorer2 but an answer to many peoples queries
that i have seen on the net.
As to the people at MS for deleting many of the features and not going the way of some other programs ( and i have been using MS programs since MS WORKS 1.1
came out on floppy 5 1/4") all i can say is
I have been using xplorer2 since before it existed, in the form of it's baby brother 2explorer, but I am not sure of what functionality you are looking for in Windows Explorer....
But you're right, my main grip with Windows Explorer is that it does not support dual pane - there is a lot of other features that Nikos has packed into his magnificent app, but that is primarily what I use it for.
