if i click on a zip file, screen flashes till i turn it off
seems to be zip files, it happened trying to get Light Scribe set up.. a lot of other times.. i was so annoyed i didnt record the sourse
i have to restart to stop it.. and the drop down dissappears on a blink.. have to be quick to catch it.. about 2 blinks a second

In addition to Ted's post, be sure to select a restore point dated before the problem.
An alternative to try first, is to see if restoring the default ZIP file settings in the registry can help. This tutorial will show you how to. If it does not help, then a System Restore should.
