After changing the bios settings for the pci-e freq and (dumb) the cpu voltage to 1.0 it doesnt do anything after saving and restarting .. it just powers on and nothing boots up, nothing onscreen at all (i made sure the monitor is hooked up right too) i didnt do anything other than the bios changes from when just before it worked fine. I changed those things to try and fix the stutter from the sound card.
I made and tested a caldera dos boot CD disk with the asus flash utility but it wont boot it up. just runs with nothing happening.
Check your manual for the location of this jumper. Alternatively, remove the motherboard battery for a few minutes and then replace it. Either method should reset your BIOS to its default values allowing you to restart your machine. When you do, enter your BIOS and make sure that the date and time are correct. Whilst you are there, refer to the manual and disable anything that you do not use. For example, if your motherboard has a parallel port but you do not use it, disable it to save resources. Likewise with serial ports. You can always reenable them later should the need arise. As for the stutter from your sound card, freeing up some resources by disabling unused devices in the BIOS might help. You could also try a different slot. An updated driver might also help.
