Ok, I am not a very experienced computer person, but with XP, if I got an attachment in my Yahoo mail, all I had to do was to click to save it, and asked to save it to my desktop.....I cant seem to do that with Vista..it says it is downloading?? I have even tried to search for the file I just downloaded, most of the time it doesnt find it....THere has been a couple of times that it found a shortcut for it, but then tells me the information has been moved and cannot be located?? Am I crazy?? Help Plz!!

Try saving it to your My Documents folder instead.

You can use the Advanced search with the non-indexed option to search Everywhere to find the name of the downloaded file.

Do you have a Save As option instead of Save to select from? Save As will allow you to select the location to save the attachment.
