Restoring Vista backup to XP PC?

Hi,

New to the site but still hoping somebody might be able to point me in the direction of some useful info!

My Vista notebook is faulty and back for repair, in the mean time I've borrowed a friends XP desktop PC. Is it possible to restore my Vista backup onto XP? Or maybe just extract some of the files/folders I need?

Welcome to Vista Forums. :party:

Sorry, you cannot restore backup files using the Vista built-in Backup Files and Complete PC Backup features into XP. If you manually copied individual files to a DVD, then you might be able to use them in XP though.

You can, of course, reinstall Vista and restore your backups then.
