I am trying to find an external hard disk drive of about 1TB capacity or greater but the only ones I can find are not *fully* compatible with Vista x64. I purchased a Western Digital My Book II Premium 2TB drive and it's great but they only supply a 32-bit driver. The drive still works because it connects via USB but I am unable to change the RAID settings or run diagnostics etc. The WD website clearly states that the drive is "Vista compatible" but when I contacted them they said that I should have known it wouldn't be compatible with x64 because I should "assume everything is not compatible with 64-bit Vista".
So I researched the Seagate FreeAgent Pro 1TB drive and contacted Seagate. They told me that the drive should work but that the software is not 64-bit compatible so it sounds like a similar situation.
Does anyone have a high-capacity external HDD working with Vista x64 or can recommend one? It has to be external as it is for my laptop.
