UAC popup window position

Hi! Is there a way to set constant UAC popup window positions? It appears in different places on the screen depending on application, for example while starting Total Commander with administrator's right the UAC window appears at the left low corner, Symantec Endpoint Protection - at the middle of the screen's bottom. It's not a big problem of course, but maybe it is possible to fix such behavior? thanx in advance

At a guess, I'd say that the UAC prompt appears near where you double-clicked the icon to start the relevant program. If you launched it from the <WINKEY>+<R> Run dialog, then UAC will appear near the bottom left of the screen.

Well, no, the position of the UAC prompt cannot be changed. It's runs on what Vista calls the "Secure Desktop", and this is why you can't do anything until you provide some sort of response to it.

I think the reason why its appears near where you double-clicked to launch whatever, is that the UI experts at Microsoft figured that that is where your attention is focused, so putting the UAC prompt near where you are makes it easier to respond to. I guess.

To close off, I wouldn't really call it a pity. Part of the reason that UAC is so effective is that it cannot be interfered with by either the user, or any malware on the system. It's part of what I mentioned earlier called the "Secure Desktop". Just about the only thing on the system that is allowed to work there is the UAC prompt. That's why the screen usually dims a bit for everything other than the UAC prompt itself, and you can't click on anything other than the prompt.
