Well, I've been using Vista since its release and have had a nagging problem I believe is a bug of some sort. I ran a chkdsk from this tutorial:

Afterwards, several programs shortcuts were no longer working in the start menu. No problem, I recreated the shortcuts manually. But now I'm not getting the small icons I should:
For example, here's what I have:
The file association is there... it opens in Acrobat. But the icon is now set as if it is unrecognized (only in details and small icon).
I tried to repair Acrobat through the control panel and got an error. Shared components were reinstalled but not Acrobat. I've done some searching on this forum and Adobe's for a fix with poor results. How do I get the pdf small icon back? Anyone know of a fix?
