OEM Vista 64 install issues (OPK)

Hi All,

I'm in the process of building a new computer and I bought an OEM version of Vista 64 to use. Now all my versions of Windows have been OEM with each new computer I have got but they have never before been like this one.

I'm not ready to install it yet as I still have a couple of bits of hardware on back-order I'm waiting for but the OEM Vista 64 info on the package says I need the OPK to install it.

Does this mean I can no longer install my own OEM operating systems ?

I think I read something about OPK in the manual, but there was nothing that prevented me in installing Vista 64 on my new machine in any way as far as I can tell.

OPK (Oem Preinstallation Kit) seem to be a tool for sellers that assemble computers and I think they by license aggreement have to install the OS before the computer is sold to a customer.

I do not know how the OPK kit works, but I read that you can get to insert a company logo on the machine before it is sold to a customer.

I have used a few Vista oem disks now, just bung it in and let it load forget about the opk ;)
