Vista SideBar Question

When I have a couple of programs open and need to get back to the Desktop to see something I've noticed that the SideBar containing the Gadgets disappears when I use the SHOW DESKTOP BUTTON in the Taskbar.

If I minimize the windows, the SideBar of course is still visible, it's only upon using the Show Desktop Button that the Gadgets disappear.

Is this normail or have I got a setting wrong????

Would appreciate any input on this ... and Thank YOU so much for your help.

It works that way on my box too. It comes back when you hit Show Desktop again, yes?

The sidebar is a program, thus using show desktop will minimize it. Just double click the sidebar icon on your taskbar and it'll pop back up

:D Well that makes me happy .. I hate not understanding something.

I didn't even realize there was a SideBar program icon minimized.

This is such a helpful forum, I've asked two questions and got two immediate CORRECT answers.
