DVD Burning Fails In Vista x64 Ultimate

Hey guys, I'm having the weirdest problem here. I recently re-installed Vista Ultimate x64 and everything seemed okay until I tried burning a DVD. The drives are all detected and can be read from, and nothing in the control panel looks off, but every time I try any DVD burning software I get zero results. What's weird is they worked on my last install, but not this one. Nothing has changed in the hardware config so I can't figure this one out.

The drives in question are a HP SATA DVD burner and a Sony USB DVD burner. Neither device works with anything I've tried, but I can read from both of them with no problem. Any advice would be great right now as I'm totally lost on this one.

seems like maybe you need to reinstall the DVD drivers. but i'm just guessing.

Thanks for the tip. I had uninstalled the drives through the control panel, but I never had gotten around to actually uninstalling the driver. I'm burning a DVD as we speak, so clearly your advice was the key. Thanks for the quick response. I feel like a total n00b right now

No one should feel dumb with a question about a O.S. that still so new!
