moving games to a new HDD

hey,

i have gotten my computer fixed with a new geen cavier WD HDD and which i just formatted cos the people at my computer shop didnt do it.

i want to move steam and all of my games to the new HDD do i just copy and paste or do i have to uninstall all of them and reinstall them.

Hi,

The best way to move them is to un-install & re-install. This will set the game up correctly on the system(Shortcut links too).

Please note: -

The game saves might be lost this way though!

No offence, but if this is you only drive, they screwed you bad.

Green drive are VERY slow, and ment just for storage, not running games.

well half of the games i tyed installing didnt want to go in there and went back to the C:. checked permissions for drive and set accordingly

Before you start putting everything over there, try playing the ones on there now, and see if it's acceptable to you.
