I grabbed two old games out of my bedroom shelf. One was LEGO Creator and it's Harry Potter-themed equievalent. I tried to install both of them but none of them worked.
LEGO Creator
I put the disk in, nothing happens. Last time LEGO Creator was installed an error kept popping up when the loading screen comes on. And then it just loads and loads forever, forcing me to end the task. So I uninstalled Creator then tried to install it again after a few months. Whenever I put the disk in, AutoPlay comes up and I click run "autorun.exe" but nothing happens, the computer just whirrs loudly then calms down.
LEGO Creator Harry Potter
This is one game I haven't played in years. I put the disk in, installation pops up, I click install, InstallWizard prepares the installation, but then I get an error message with a white X in a red circle saying:
Error Number: 0x80040707
Description: Dll function call crashed: ISRT.VerGetFileVersion
Setup will now terminate.
Then I click OK, it closes.
Note that these games are pretty old. LEGO Creator is 12 and LEGO Creator Harry Potter is 10, but it says on Wikipedia that they are compatible with Vista and 7. But I'm pretty sure that's not the case. For old games, just run 'em with the Windows XP Service Pack 2.

- Thank you for everything you've done for me in the past years. I'm sorry that games require much more than you're capable of, but you'll never be forgotten as my first personal computer <3
