The game is Championship Chess for windows 95
I can't get it to run on Vista. I used compatibility mode with the setting set to run as windows 95 to install it, and that seemed to work correctly. However, I immedietly get an error message when I try to play it. It says the game failed to start because MFCANS32.dll was not found.
Is there anything else I can do to get it to work? Any suggestions? Or is it hopelessly outdated?
(note that under compatibility mode there are other settings such as, run in 256 colors, run in smaller screen resolution, disable various themes. will experimenting with these have any difference?)
