Solved How do I uninstall or reinstall The Sims?

New Member
I used to have it on my computer.
But last time I tried to play it didn't work.

It said that I have to re-install it. But when I put the disc in it say that it cant find the location folder.

So I tried to un-install, but it say I cant do that.

I looked through previous threads here, and found one about how to delete it from the start menu -> regedit etc.
Follewed the intstructions, but I dont have a EA game folder, Maxis folder or any other folder for the game.

So what is wrong, and how can I get my Sims to work again???

No problem, I'm glad I could help :)

I would try to run CCleaner monthly at least to clean up all of the temporary files and invalid registry keys that will clog up your system. You don't have to if you don't want to, but its just a recommendation.

I don't recommend using registry cleaners at all. but If you are then always backup

As you can see, you have the option to back up the registry changes into one simple .reg file. This makes the restoration of the registry very easy, and if a registry cleaner is needed to do a job, then I will advise that they do that.

I agree that some registry cleaners may remove vital keys, but CCleaner sticks to simplicity and doesn't try to do more than it needs to. It is simply removing the keys that are making errors, like in this case.

I suppose your right but I wouldn't depend on them to speed your system up

Yes, I agree entirely. Cleaning the registry won't benefit the speed of your system significantly enough to notice.
