Hello everyone I'm new to the forum here but am an active member of the flight simulator community, just for fact I speak French, English and Spanish.
Anyway I have been looking for solutions to the most annoying problem you can have in gaming; stuttering and CTD's.
When I go onto Flight Simulator 2004 it all seems to run fine at startup and then it'll run jerkily while on a flight. On the ground there doesn't seem to be much problem but once in the air the simulator will begin to stutter like crazy. A hiccup about every 5-7 seconds which is very annoying. FS2004 is running at 60FPS for me constantly and it doesn't drop below that but when panning and having the aircraft move you can see the stutters clearly.
The other thing is that when I close FS I get this Windows Error Reporting message that states that my simulator has just crashed. I've tried reinstalling the simulator about twice now and it does not fix the problem.
It states is as an APPCRASH and it says the FAULT MODULE to be STACKHASHd9d3d something. I searched the file on my system and nothing popped up. Looked for information online and nothing appeared as well on StackHash. The crash happens after I exit the sim.
Here is my current system, it seems very top notch for Flight Simulator:
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium x64
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16GHz ~ 3.80GHz/400MHz x 9.5 Mult
G.Skill 4GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066MHz on 2.66C in BIOS 5-5-5-15 Timings
MSI NVIDIA GTS 250 Twin Frozr Edition @ 760MHz Core/1186MHz Memory
SEAGATE 640GB HDD @ 7200RPM
Sound Blaster Audigy SE 24-Bit Sound Card
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R Motherboard
Dell LCD Monitor @ 1366x768x32x60Hz Native Resolution
Disabled:
CPU EIST
Temps:
Processor: Idle = 35*C Load = 43*C Max
Video Card: Idle = 33*C = 44*C Max
I have tried the following to fix it:
Changing Power Options to Performance
DirectX Updating currently DX11
.NET Framework updates
Auslogics Defrag and Auslogics Registry Cleaner
Compatability Mode to Windows XP SP2
TextureMult=30 in FS9.CFG
Using NHancer all settings seem correct
MSCONFIG settings and disabling Services and Startup Programs
Installed 9.1 FS Update
Disabled Visual Themes
Ran FS in Windowed Mode
Lowering the Framerate to 30FPS only makes the stutters even worse and more noticeable for some weird reason. Seems like the card wants to run it at 60 to cope with the Monitors native settings. Seeing this really disturbs and doesn't allow me to fly comfortably.
Any way I can fix both the stutters and the CTD? I assume the CTD might just be Vista itself because this never happened on Windows XP. All my other games such as Supreme Commander work just fine with no problems it's just always been Flight Sim. Hope to hear from any of you.
Thanks in advance!
