No more than 4 days ago,I was able to run Grand Theft Auto San Andreas perfectly fine without a problem. But a while back,I started getting error messages out of no where and I have no idea how to fix it.After installing the game...I get the following message....
After going to the event view,I saw this regarding San Andreas.
I know many have the cracked version of the game but I can assure you that my copy is 100% legit,I will post a pic just in case you want proof.
I have deleted the gta.set file numerous times, uninstalled and reinstalled,I've tried it to run it under XP Service pack 2 and nothing has worked. Is there any way I can fix this?I really want to play it again.
This may have something to do with it.I had some spyware in my computer just a few days ago but I was successfully able to remove it,that is when the game just decided to stop working.
If errors are found, run the scan again, until they are all gone.
The error you are getting is normally down to the game not being patched to the latest version, but if you have patched the game after the re-install then we can rule this out.
Do you have the latest video drivers installed ?.
Spyware can cause severe problems and leave behind bits of the original file.
Use this free app to make sure that nothing is left behind.
The problem could lie in the registry, when you un-install a file or program it leaves the registry with an entry that can sometimes interfere with the normal running of Vista and other programs.
If startup repair and the file checker cant repair the files, then you may have a problem that only a format and clean install can fix.
It may be an idea to start backing up any files you want to keep.
I'm not much a computer wizard but I know there is something wrong with the registry keys, will doing a system restore to it's original factory settings fix that?
BUT....I restored my computer back to factory settings along with a hard drive defrag. And EVERYTHING is running very smoothly, crystal clear sharp I might add.
But thanks for the help stoney.GTA now works.Cheers!
