The Witcher Random Crash!

The Problem: I randomly crash at loading/save screens.
Tried in effort to fix:

I searched forums for possible fix's.
Checked version. The Witcher EE 1.4.5.1304 (forums say i am up to date)
Tried to install 1.5 ( see previous )
Tried to install hotfix from windows. ( error was giving and i read that sp1 included this hotfix)
At this point from what i read i am up to date on all the drivers and patch's that are available, but i am still getting the random crash's

dual core
nvidia 9800
2g ram
etc etc
system is good not great but it runs the game awesome, minus the random crash.

anyone have some idea what i can do or is there anything at the moment that can fix this?

Hello mrmike,
There are a couple of things you can try, but it seems this game does have a few issues.
The first thing is to turn off Indexing, i had problems with a game and turned this off, (3 days without a crash), i don't know why this works, or even if this will work for you, but worth a go.
Try launching the game from the game folder, not the shortcut, in the game folder launch with the game .EXE, not the launcher.
Lastly, if the none of the above work, you could try a No CD patch, that will sometimes do the trick.
